Who I am

I know you are hoping to read a 3000 word treatise on development methodologies and company culture; however, I’m going to disappoint you and get right to describing my qualifications. For seven years I’ve worked as a freelance programmer. I won’t throw around over-used worlds like “guru” or “rockstar,” but I am highly skilled in PHP, Javascript and SQL.

My Work History

I’ve been working as a freelance developer since 2002. I’ve heavily focused on WordPress based work since 2006. I’ve been involved in plugin development, WordPress-based websites, site management, and even submitted patches to the WP Core.

I have developed both WordPress plugins and themes for both personal use and corporate clients. In fact, one of the most popular and feature-rich AJAX WordPress plugins is mine with a total distribution of over a hundred twenty thousand copies ( http://ajaxedwp.com). I also maintain plugins for companies such as LinkWorth LLC.

I’m frequently hired to tweak existing websites and integrate or add new features, and I have also completely built WordPress websites from the bottom up including server management; for example, NEPTK.org (a non-profit organization).

I do design work, but I don’t consider myself a designer. If what you need is a dedicated graphics artist you are better off looking somewhere else because I’m probably not who you are looking for.

I have a degree in Physics (Math with a extra side of awesome) and a degree in English Literature ( also known as majoring in unemployment). In my free time, I read everything and enjoy jumping off of cliffs into the water (current personal highest: 30 ft.)

Before I go any further, my last name is pronounce like “haa-ruin”. To help you with the pronunciation, imagine you are walking through Greece, and you come across an ancient temple. You might find yourself saying my name (“Haaa Ruins!”)

Do I sound like someone you can work with?
